Information: CARTER SERVICE IS HERE ON THURSDAY - John W. Carter, the last of the Carter brothers of Ripley Landing, died at the St. Joseph's hospital on Tuesday after a brief illness.  He was 88 years old.  The body is at the Vail funeral home in Ripley where services will be held Thursday at 11 am with Rev. Earl Seaman officiating and the burial will be in the Douglas cemetery at Ripley Landing.
