  <p>Information: Elvon L. Carter Jr., 72, of Given passed away Saturday, May 30, 2009, at Eldercare of Ripley following an extended illness.  He was born February 16, 1937, in Charleston, son of the late Elvon L. and Mary Butcher Jones Carter.  He was a truck driver with Teamsters Local 175, Charleston and retired from Yellow Motor Freight.  Elvon was preceded in death by his wife, JoAnn, in 2007.  Surviving are daughters, Elizabeth Halstead (Keith) of Given, Sharrie Casto (Robert) of Given and Kathy Fitapatrick (Russ) of Iowa Park, Texas; sisters, Judy Bennett of Arlington, Texas, June Brown of Irving, Texas, and Frances Kauff of Pomeroy, Ohio; grandchildren, Jill Way, Sara Halstead, Erin Sayre, Brittany Shamblin, William Casto, Mariah Fitzpatrick and Marquee Fitzpatrick; and great-grandchildren, Alexandria Sayre and A. J. Way.  Funeral service is set for 11 a.m. Thursday, June 4, at Parchment Chapel United Methodist Church.  Interment will follow at the Given Cemetery.  Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 3 at Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley.</p>
