Information: Kenneth G. Achtziger, 68, of Ripley WV went to be with the Lord on August 17, 2012 at Camden Clark Memorial Hospital following a long illness.  He was born January 4, 1944 at West Moreland County PA, a son of Bertha Sullenberger Achtziger of Armbrust PA and the late Grover Achtziger.  He was an Army Veteran of the Vietnam Conflict where he served as a helicopter pilot.  He worked for many years in the pipeline industry having been employed with S and T Pipe, and lastly with Pipeline Energy Group as a safety officer.  He formerly worked for Carl E. Smith as a helicopter pilot and parts manager.  He was a member of the Aplin United Methodist Church.      In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 18 years, Kathy Cummings Achtziger; a daughter, Rachel Rhodes and her husband Gordon of Statts Mill; a sister, Roberta Graham and her husband John of Ligonier PA; grandchildren, Brianna and Brice Rhodes; and his mother-in-law, Juanita Cummings.  In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Junior Cummings.  Funeral services were 1 p.m. Tuesday, August 21, 2012, at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley.  Pastor Danny Cummings officiated.  Burial with veteran rites provided by American Legion Post 107, Ripley, will be in the Aplin United Methodist Church Cemetery, Gay WV.  Friends called from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
