Information: Funeral services were held Sunday in the Mt. Zion Church, Spencer, for Ross Carpenter, 61 of Doylestown, Ohio, formerly of Spencer, who died Thursday en route to Jackson General Hospital at Ripley.  The Rev. James Freeman and the Rev. Moreland Reynolds officiated and burial was in Mt. Zion Cemetery.  The Hardman Funeral Home in Spencer was in charge.  Born in Spencer, he was the son of the late Levi Melvin and Sadie Whitehead Carpenter.  He lived for 18 years in Doylestown. Survivors include his daughter, Betty L. Murphy of Spencer; five sisters, Mrs. Hazel Ashley of Spencer, Mrs. Myrtle Robinson of Weirton, Mrs. Pauline Parsons of Ripley, Mrs. Justine Harbert of Aberton, Ohio, and Mrs. Oshel Martin of Canton, Ohio; and two brothers, Willis Carpenter of Doylestown and Lascoe Carpenter of Rittman, Ohio.
