Information: Mrs. Gertie Carpenter, of Syracuse, Ohio, died Thursday morning at Meigs Memorial Hospital in Pomeroy, Ohio.  She was born Dec. 9, 1883 at Gay, W. Va., the daughter of Thomas and Minerva Stanley Skinner.  She was married in 1907 to Howard Carpenter who survives.  Also surviving are four sons, Clare Carpenter and Wayne Carpenter, Belpre, Ohio, Wilson Carpenter, Pomeroy, Ohio, and Sidney Carpenter, Salineville, Ohio, and one sister, Mrs. Chlora Whited, Gay, W. Va.  A daughter, Mrs. Grace Merritt, and a son, James Carpenter are deceased.  There are 17 grandchildren and nine greatgrandchildren.  She was a member of the Methodist Church, Apple Grove, Ohio.  Funeral services were held on Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Methodist Church, Apple Grove, Ohio.
