Information: William O. Carney, 90, of Ripley, died Friday, Aug. 28, 1987, at the VA Hospital, Clarksburg, after a long illness. He was born in Jackson County. He was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge, Ripley for 30 years and was a member of the AF and AM #16, Ripley, the VFW Post 5501, Ripley and Sidneyville United Methodist Church. He was a veteran of World War I and was a retired supervisor with the state Dept. of Highways. Surviving: wife, Mabel; son, Kenneth of Tampa, Fla.; daughters, Mildred Barker of Corning, N.Y., and Eloise Kerns of New Jersey; stepdaughters, Madeline Kay of Canton, Ohio, Dorothy Moore of Ripley; stepson, Edward Landfried of Ripley; nine grandchildren; seven greatgrandchildren. Service was Monday at the Calvary United Methodist Church, Ripley, with the Rev. William Eaton and the Rev. Donald Lockhart officiating. Burial was in Pine Hill Cemetery, Ripley.
