  <p>Information: Carney, Robert F. 1/28/1972  Robert F. Carney, 62, of Ripley, died Saturday morning at Jackson General Hospital after a short illness.  He was a former Ripley policeman and until his death worked part time on the force.  He was buried in his police uniform.  He was a retired state road inspector; a World War II veteran; and member of the American Legion Post 118, Ravenswood.  He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Beulah C. Carney; one daughter, Mrs. Linda Harpold of Ripley; one step-son, Larry Watkins of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; two brothers, Gene of Nitro, and Harold of Ripley; and two grandchildren.  The funeral was Tuesday in Epworth United Methodist Church in Ripley.  The Rev. Basil Hensley officiated.  Burial was in Pine Hill Cemetery in Ripley.   </p>
