Information: KENNA - Maynard E. Carney, 82, of Kenna, died July 16, 1996, in General Division, CAMC, after a short illness. He was a retired valve mechanic for Union Carbide, Institute, a member of Watts Chapel Church, Goldtown, and an Army veteran of World War II. He was a lifelong resident of Jackson County. Surviving: wife, Ada B. Harrison Carney; daughters, Phyllis M. Koontz of Goldtown, Joan L. Beane of Kenna, Sharon S. Carney of Kenna; son, Edward Dale Carney of Kenna; sister, Agatha Easley of Sissonville; brothers, James D. ""Dell"" Carney of Romance, William H. Carney of Charleston; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. Service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Long and Fisher Funeral Home Chapel, Pocatalico, with the Rev. Jackie Lee Miller officiating. Burial will be in Carney-Lewis Family Cemetery, Cunningham Road, Kenna. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
