Information: MARVIN CARNEY DIES, MISSOURI - Former Given Lad Dies of Heart Attack at Home in Missouri; Body is Brought Back to County for Burial. -- Marvin Carney, 31-year-old son of the late Jesse Carney, died at the family home near Breckinridge, Missouri, of a heart attack on Saturday, February 13, after an illness of only five hours.  He was a native of Given, Jackson County, but went west with his mother, a brother and sister in 1916.  He was born at Given on November 6, 1900, and was a son of Jesse and Nan Carney.  He numbered his friends by his acquaintances and was always ready and willing to lend a helping hand to those who needed assistance.  He was a thoughtful and affectionate son and a kind and loving brother who will be sadly missed.  It was while engaged in lessening the labor of his mother and sister that he was stricken with heart disease, from which he had been a long sufferer.  His father and three brothers preceded him in death.  He is survived by the mother, Mrs. Nan Carney, of Breckenridge, Missouri; a sister, Miss Louise, at home, and one brother, Ben Carney, of Kansas City, Mo., and a host of relatives and friends.  The body was brought to Ripley Landing, accompanied by the brother, and the funeral services were held in the Carter home last Friday under the direction of Rev. B. F. King, of Ripley.  Interment followed in the Douglass Cemetery.  The mother was unable to accompany the remains back to Jackson County for burial.
