  <p>Information: EVANS - James Basil Carney, 67, of Evans, died April 19, 1994, at Jackson General Hospital, Ripley, after a long illness.  He was retired from Kaiser Aluminum, a member of the United Steelworkers Local 5668, a Protestant and a farmer.  Surviving:  wife, Genevieve Lathey Carney; son, James R. of Evans; daughters, Pamela Patton and Latricia Snyder, both of Evans; mother, Linnie Carney of Millwood; brothers, R. D. of Cottageville, Willard of Millwood, Darrell of Given, Harold of Colo.,; sisters, Mary Barnette of Evans, Betty Carney of Given, Velmada Williams of Millwood, Willa Jean Holdeman of Louisville, Ohio; three grandchildren.  Service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Casto Funeral Home, Evans, with the Rev. Hubert Groves officiating.  Burial will be in Jackson County Memory Gardens, Cottageville.  Friends may call after 3 p.m. today at the funeral home.</p>
