Information: RAVENSWOOD - Ronald Paige Carmichael, 79, of Ravenswood, WV, passed away on Thursday, October 14, 2010, at home after an extended illness. Ronald was born June 28, 1931, in Ravenswood, WV, the son of the late Edwin ""Pat"" and Mary Katherine Cariens Carmichael. He attended elementary and high schools in Ravenswood. Ron received a BA degree from West Virginia University and spent two years in the US Army. He was employed by Chevrolet Motor Division for 15 years and retired in 1991 from Chenoweth Ford in Clarksburg as Rental and Leasing Manager. Ron was a member of the First Christian Church in Ravenswood; was a 32nd Mason of Clarksburg Lodge No. 155, AF & AM, Nemesis Shriners A.A.O.N.M.S., member of Valley of Clarksburg SR Bodies, central WV Shrine Club, serving as President and was Shriner of the Year. Ron is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Blanche Marie Farmer Carmichael of Ravenswood; a son, Charles R. ""Reggie"" Carmichael of Ravenswood; two granddaughters, Stephanie Dawn Page of Carrolton, VA, and Lindsay Michelle Carmichael, a student at Marshall University; one great-granddaughter, Autumn Victoria Page of Carrolton, VA; brother, Larry Carmichael and wife, Lea Ann of Ravenswood; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, a brother, Roger Allen Carmichael, preceded him in death. Ron enjoyed reading, traveling, supporting and attending WVU Mountaineer football games. He loved his family and will be greatly missed. Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 18, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Roush Funeral Home, Ravenswood, WV. Burial will follow in Ravenswood Cemetery with graveside Masonic Rites provided by Ashton Lodge #12 of Ravenswood.
