  <p>Information: Gerald Denver Carmichael, 68, of Warren, Mich., died Wednesday, Aug. 13, in South Macomb Hospital, Warren, Mich., of a heart attack.  He was born at Silverton, the son of the late David and Neta Carmichael.  Mr. Carmichael was a printer and was employed by The Detroit News for 23 years.  He was a former employee of The Jackson Herald.  Among survivors are a brother, David Carmichael of Ravenswood and a sister, Juanita Hickel of Spencer.  Additional survivors:  wife, Georgia; two daughters, Karen Porter and Constance; eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; two brothers and two sisters.  A sister, Marilyn Schiefer preceded him in death four days earlier.  Services were held Sunday in Lyle Elliott Funeral Home, Warren with burial in Salisburg, Md.</p>
