Information: Funeral services for Charles L. Carez, 79, of Parkersburg, Rt. 4, who died Sunday evening at Haught Memorial Home following an extended illness, were conducted yesterday at the Franklin and Sons Memorial Chapel. The Rev. Charles Wilkinson officiated and burial was in the Limestone Cemetery following Masonic graveside rites. Born in Jackson County, he was a son of the late Joseph and Francis Roberts Carez and had been a Wood County resident since 1923. He and his wife, Della Virginia operated a general store at Riverhill for 11 years and prior to that he had been employed by the FMC Corp. He was a member of Ashton Lodge No. 12, Ravenswood, veteran of World War I and member of World War I Veterans, Barracks 456 and member of the Pleasant Ridge United Brethren Church. Survivors include a daughter, Peggy Mae Wildman Washago, Ontario, Canada; a brother, Omer L. Carez, Parkersburg; a half-sister, Mrs. Laura Smith of Sandyville; three grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, two half-brothers and two half-sisters.
