Information: Nathan Goff Carder, 84, of Murraysville, died Wednesday morning in the Jackson General Hospital, Ripley.  He was born in Jackson County, son of the late Z.P. and L.E. Steed Carder.  He was a Protestant, retired from the U.S. Department of Education and was formerly a teacher in Jackson County.  He was a 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge, American Union 001, Marietta, Ohio; the Parkersburg Nemesis Shrine; and the Jackson County Historical Society, contributing as an author.  He was past president of the Ravenswood Lions Club and curator of the Washington Museum of Ravenswood.  Surviving are his wife, Helen Hunter Carder; one stepson, James Hunter of Ripley and four grandchildren.  Services were Friday in Straight-Tucker Funeral Home, Ravenswood, with the Rev. Donald Pringle officiating.  Interment was in the Ravenswood Cemetery.
