  <p>Information: Edgar Cales, 78, of Talcott, died Thursday in a Summers County hospital of an apparent heart attack.  The father of Joyce Allen of Millwood, he was a lifelong resident of Summers County and was a former employee of Hercules Powder Co., Radford, Va.  He was a former employee of West Virginia Department of Natural Resources and was a retired farmer.  He was a member of Shockley Hill Church of Christ.  Also surviving:  wife, Thelma Meadows Cales; sons, David of Middletown, Ohio, Nathan of Laurel, Md., Darrell of Hinton; daughter, Mrs. Ruth Bennett of Hinton; brothers, Herbert of Hinton, Arnold and Berthel, both of Hix; sister, Maxine Dodd of Alderson; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.  Service was Sunday in Ronald Meadows Funeral Home, Hinton with John Estel Gill officiating.  Burial was in Upland Cemetery near Hinton,</p>
