Information: Ruth (Sayre) Cain, daughter of Abe and Katherine Sayre, was born in Jackson County on January 28, 1865, passed to the Great Beyond, October 25, 1945, at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Charles Hersko, Letart, W. Va., Route 2, age 80 years 8 months and 25 days.  Immediate survivors are her husband, Leaben Cain, two daughters, Mrs. Alma Anderson and Mrs. Charles Hersko; four step-sons, William, Jasper, John and Edgar Sayre, two brothers, Ezekiel and George Sayre, 22 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren, a host of other relatives and friends.  The departed was a member of the Mt. Zion Church.  She was a kind and loving mother, always ready to sacrifice her own pleasures for that of her family and friends.  We can truly say, to know her was to love her.  Funeral service was conducted at Creston U.B. Church by the Rev. I. J. McCallum; burial in charge of Undertaker W. H. Foglesong of Mason City.
