Information: Orval L. Cadle, 89, of Cross Lanes, died June 29, 1988, in Thomas Memorial Hospital, Charleston, following a lengthy illness.  He was born at Long Hollow in Jackson County to the late John and Mary Adams Cadle, Feb. 9, 1899.  He grew up in the Leon area but had lived in Charleston and Cross Lanes most of his adult years.  His wife was the former Dessie Graham and they were married 69 years when she passed away.  He is survived by two daughters, Betty Jo Taylor, Charleston and Mary Ellen Burns, Scott Depot; two sons, Charles Cadle, Poca, and John Cadle, Baton Rouge, La.; one sister, Mrs. Bonnie Harltey, Leon; brothers, Cleon, Leon, Bert, Dayton, Ohio, Ray, Shreveport, La., Parke, Cross Lanes; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.  Several cousins live in the Ripley area, including Glen Adams of Fairplain.  He was a Baptist and attended Bethel Church, Leon, and Cross Lanes United Methodist Church, from which funeral services were held on June 30.  Burial was in Tyler Mountain Memorial Gardens, near his Cross Lanes home.
