Information: John Rex Butcher, 54, of Ripley, died Jan. 11, 2006, at CAMC, Memorial Hospital, Charleston. He was born Norv. 25, 1951 in Charleston, son of Dolores B. Butcher and the late Paul Butcher. He was disabled and a special education student. In addition to his mother, Dolores Butcher of Ripley, he is survived by two brothers, Paul Edward Butcher of Ripley and Charles Allen Butcher of Ravenswood; one sister, Dinah June Burdette of Leon; uncle, Bud Miller; aunt, Martha Teel, both of Big Chimney; three nephews and two nieces, Billy Paul Burdette, Christina Lynn Curry, Michael Allen Butcher, Richard Lee Burdette, and Brittney Ryan Burdette; three great-nieces and nephews; and cousins, Edwin Taylor, Brennie Taylor, Huey Taylor, Edna Mae Taylor and Billy Johns, all formerly of Weston, Michael Scott Miller, Lisa Ann Lipscone, and Rodney Lee Teel. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a special aunt, Goldie Johns, and cousin, Debra Lynn Hodges. Memorial service will be Saturday, Jan. 14, at 2 p.m. at the Vail Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Mark Siers officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
