  <p>Information: Holly Abshire, 81, of Ripley, formerly of Drawdy, Boone County, died Aug. 1, 1987, in Jackson  General Hospital after a short illness. He was a retired coal miner and UMW member. He was a  member of Mud Run Church of Christ, Ripley. Surviving: daughters, Brenda Thompson and Phyllis  Gunnoe both of Charleston; sons, Marlin Andy of Madison, James C. of Ripley; sister, Mamie  Walker of Mims, Fla.; half sister, Lucille Dotson of Ripley; half brother, Fred Harrison of Nellis; 14  grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren. Service was held Tuesday at Handley Funeral Home, Danville,  with Evangelist Johnny Steele officiating. Burial was in Harless Cemetery, Drawdy.</p>
