  <p>Information: Lawrence Clifford Burke, 89, of Sandyville, died Sunday, August 4, 2002, at Eagle Pointe Nursing Home in Parkersburg.  He was born May 15, 1913, in Jackson County WV, son of the late Richard ""Dick"" Burke and Lillie Guinn Burke.  He was a member of the Lockhart United Methodist Church in Sandyville.  He was also a member of the Sandyville VFW Post #3488, member of the Millwright Union Local 1755 in Parkersburg, and Masonic Lodge, Ashton Lodge #12 in Ravenswood.  He served in the US Army during World War II, where he received the Purple Heart, combat wounded.  He was employed as a millwright in construction.  He is survived by his sons, Lawrence Burke and his wife Margaret of Richmond VA, David Burke and his wife Ilene of Rockport WV, Dennis Burke and his wife Brenda of Sanford NC, and John Burke and his wife Cindy of Sandyville WV; two sisters-in-law, Madge Burke of Parkersburg and Gaynniel Davis of Belpre OH; 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth, four sisters, and three brothers.  Services were held Friday at Lockhart United Methodist Church in Sandyville WV with the Rev. Larry Buckland officiating.  Burial at the Ravenswood Cemetery with graveside military rites provided by Sandyville VFW Post #3488.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Lockhart United Methodist Church.</p>
