  <p>Information: James Wesley Burdette, 57, of Statts Mill, died Saturday, September 14, 2002, at the home of his son following an extended illness.  He was born March 27, 1945, at Kanawha County, a son of James Edward Burdette and the late Ola Madeline Shaffer.  He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam conflict, member of the Ripley VFW Post 5501 and the American Legion Post 107, a self-employed construction worker and a member of the Siniaville United Methodist Church.  In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife, Margaret Vandale Burdette; a son, James Burdette, Jr. of Gay; daughters, Varonica Westfall and Kim Rhodes, both of Statts Mill; step-mother, Mary Jane Burdette and stepsister, Annette Burdette of Florida.  He is also survived by eight grandchildren.  Funeral service was held on Tuesday, September 17, 2002, at the Siniaville United Methodist Church, Statts Mill, with the Rev. Gary Ditoto and Rev. Danny Cummings officiating.  Burial took place with military rites by American Legion Post 107 and Sandyville VFW Post 3488 at the Siniaville Cemetery.</p>
