  <p>Information: RIPLEY - Lena Kathleen ""Kitty"" Burchard, 75, of Ripley died July 20, 2002, at Eldercare of Ripley.  She was born July 20, 1927 in Jackson County, a daughter of the late Pearl and Almeda Conger Sheppard.  She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Sandra Ellen; one son, John Alan; and a brother, Dale Sheppard.  She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and a charter member of First Presbyterian Church, Ripley.  Survivors include her husband C. J. ""John"" Burchard; one daughter and son-in-law, Kathie and Tim King of Ripley; brothers, Brooks Sheppard of Ravenswood, Harlan Sheppard of Parkersburg; sisters, Freda Hudson of Evans, Beulah Whaley of Cincinnati, Ohio, Opal Elizabeth Detty of Chillicothe, Ohio, Nina Ruth Pursley of Sandyville; grandchildren, Erin and Adam King, both at West Virginia University, Allyn King of Ripley.  Service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 23, at First Presbyterian Church, Ripley.  Burial will be in Jackson Memory Gardens, Cottageville.  Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Vail Funeral Home, Ripley, and one hour prior to service at the church.  Memorial contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church, 210 Cedar Lakes Drive, Ripley WV 25271.  Vail Funeral Home, Ripley, is in charge of arrangements.</p>
