Information: Robert (Bob) Franklin Bryant, Sr., 81, of Ravenswood WV, formerly of Frozen Camp WV, passed from this life on Monday, April 30, 2012, at Jackson General Hospital after battling Alzheimer's for many years and subsequently developing double pneumonia.  He was a faithful member of the Independent Fellowship Church where he enjoyed singing in the choir with his beloved wife, Katherine, for many years when he was in better health.  Robert was a long time volunteer at Jackson General Hospital in the emergency waiting room where he enjoyed making sure anyone and everyone had a cup of coffee to drink and a cookie to eat.  He loved to help others while they waited for their loved ones in the emergency room.  Like everything else Bob chose to do in life, he took his position to heart and performed it with pride and hard work, doing many extra things for the staff and the patients' families including obtaining snacks from the kitchen when he wasn't supposed to.      Robert was born on April 29, 1931 at Kaymoore Bottom WV (Fayetteville area), and he was the son of the late Charles Franklin and the late Biddie Kesterson Bryant.  He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Katherine Mae Board Bryant, with whom he enjoyed 57 happy years of marriage; his middle son, Ronald Dale Bryant; two brothers, James (Jimmy) and Thomas (Tommy) Bryant; and his brother-in-law, Arthur Board, Jr.  He was the loving father and father-in-law of Robert Bryant, Jr. and Lynn of Ravenswood; John and Liz Bryant of Ripley; and Mickey and Christal DeHart of Ravenswood.  Robert had 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.  Robert was the brother and brother-in-law to Charles (Bill) and Helen Bryant of Fayetteville WV; Joyce and Butch Sampson of Fayetteville WV; Robert (Bob) and Nellie Bryant Hitt of Jacksonville NC; Mona VanDyke of Sequim WA; Michael and Martha Bryant of Blythe GA; Raymond and Beverly Bryant Goodson of Fayetteville WV; and Judy McCarrier of NC.  Robert was also the brother-in-law of Shirley Jane Bryant of Brunswick OH; Bonnie Reed of Shelbyville TN; Carolyn Bryant of Mechanicsville MD; and Betty Fugate of Berea OH.  The family viewing will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 5 at Roush Funeral Home and then the family will receive friends from 12 noon to 2 p.m.  The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 5 at the funeral home with Minister Allen Stewart officiating.  Interment will follow in the Ravenswood Cemetery.  Condolences may be expressed to the Bryant family at roush94@yahoo.com.
