Information: Max Cowdery Brown, 81 of Ravenswood died March 20, 1996 at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital, Parkersburg after a long illness.  He was born August 2, 1914 in Meigs County, Ohio, a son of the late Hollie H. and Goldie Marie 'Cowdery' Brown.  He was a retired pipefitter for Kaiser Aluminum, Ravenswood.  He was an engineer during World War II with the Maritime Service and Coast Guard.  He participated in all Theaters of War including the Normandy Beach Invasion.  He was a member of the National American Legion Post #0200 and was a member of the St. Matthew Catholic Church, Ravenswood.  Surviving:  wife, Gertrude M. Klinkhamer Brown; daughters, Hollie Marie Evans of Mineral Wells, Marsha Jo Wallace of Williamstown; brother, Woodrow of Whitney, Pa.; granddaughter, Jodie Marie Comeaux of New Iberia, La.; great-granddaughter, Kaitlin Elizabeth Comeaux of New Iberia, La.  He was preceded in death by brothers, Douglas, Charles, H. Clair, Harry and Dean Brown; sisters, Dale Dixon and Gail Rowan.  Mass of Christian burial will be 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Matthew Catholic Church, Ravenswood, with the Rev. Msgr. Sylvester Staud officiating.  Burial with military honors will be in Ravenswood Cemetery.
