  <p>Information:       Mrs. Mary Jane Parsons Brown, 74, of Given, died Thursday, July 8, 1971, in Jackson General Hospital in Ripley following a one-week illness.  She was born August 5, 1896, in Jackson County, daughter of the late Adam Greenberry and Amanda Ellen Alderman Parsons.  She was a member of the Walnut Grove United Methodist Church.  She is survived by three sons:  Carroll of Given, Clifford of St. Albans, and James M. of Hurricane; one brother, Roy Parsons of Kenna; and six grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, James Brown.  Funeral services were held Saturday at the Parsons Funeral Home Chapel in Ripley, .  The Rev. Herman Gandee officiated with burial in the Brown Cemetery in Given. </p>
