Brown, Jr.; son, John A. Brown of Ravenswood; daughter, Becky and husband Richard G. Stevenson, M.D. of Morgantown; grandchildren, John R. Brown of Florida, Christopher Brown of Parkersburg, Gregg Stevenson, Sarah Stevenson McClellan, M.D. and husband W. T. McClellan M.D., all of Morgantown; great-grandchildren, Julian Brown of Parkersburg, Channing Brown of Texas, and Tommy and Andrew McClellan of Morgantown; a brother, George Brumfield and his family of Atlanta; a nephew, Billy Ratcliff and family of Columbia SC; and nieces, Belinda Brumfield of Huntington WV and Leslie Stephens and family of Columbia SC.  Betty will live in the memory of those who knew, loved and were loved by her.      There will be no visitation.  Private graveside services were held Wednesday, September 24, 2014.  The family requests no flowers be sent, though, should you desire, donations may be made in Betty's name to the First United Methodist Church, Flinn Street, Ravenswood WV 26164.  Roush Funeral Home in Ravenswood is serving the Brown family.  Betty liked this poem, though we do not know the author.  Memories - I'd like the memory of me To be a happy one.  I'd like to leave an afterglow of Smiles when day is done.  I'd like to leave an echo Whispering softly down the ways, Of happy times and laughing times And bright and sunny days.  I'd like the tears of those Who grieve to dry before the sun Of happy memories that I leave when day is done.
