Information: Funeral services for Lee Brotherton, 79 year-old farmer and veterinarian, were held at the Fairview church, near Fairplain, Tuesday morning at eleven o'clock and burial was in the church cemetery.  The Vail Funeral Home of Ripley had charge of the funeral arrangements.  Mr. Brotherton died at his home Saturday after a long illness.  His condition had been critical for several days and death had been expected.  He was a lifelong resident of the section of the county in which he lived at the time of his death and was a member of the Methodist church and the Odd Fellows.  He is survived by the widow and six sons, Holly Brotherton of Sebring Ohio, Charles and George Brotherton of Dunbar, Mottie Brotherton of Charleston, Clinton Brotherton of Given and Judy Brotherton of Rockcastle; a daughter, Mrs. Emory Kay of Dunbar; three brothers, Robert Brotherton of Dunbar, Frank and John Brotherton of Given; and a sister, Mrs. Lizzie Waugh of Ostrander, Ohio.  [from the Betty Kessel McIntyre obit collection]
