Information: LONG ILLNESS PROVES FATAL - Flora Shamblen Rites Held at Fairplain Cemetery Friday Afternoon - Mrs. Flora Harpold Shamblen, 85 year old widow of the late D. W. Shamblen, died Wednesday at the home of her son, Gary Shamblen, in Charleston. She had been ill for a long time and death had been expected. The funeral services were held Friday with Rev. Hobson Fisher in charge and the burial was in the Fairplain cemetery. Mrs. Shamblen, who was a native of Jackson county, formerly lived in Ripley. After the death of her husband, she went to Charleston where she was employed by the O. J. Morrison store there. Surviving in addition to the son at whose home she died, is another son, Boyd Shamblen, of Given; a brother, J. O. Harpold of Fairplain; 15 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
