  <p>Information: James Ronald "Cotton" Simmons, 73 of Marshall died Dec. 19, 1993 at Jackson County General Hospital, Ripley after a short illness.  He was a former police officer and a member of Mill Creek Baptist church and Paralyzed Veterans of America.  He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War.  Surviving: wife, Darlene; sons, Ronald D. of Ravenswood, Gary of South Charleston, James S. of Evans, Neil David of Cottageville; brothers, Marshall of Akron, Ohio, Gene Simmons of Sandusky, Ohio, Jack Simmons; three grandchildren, two stepgrandchildren.  Memorial service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Vandale Funeral Home, Spencer with the Rev. Leon Strickland officiating.  There will be no visitation.  The body was donated in the West Virginia Human Gift Registry.</p>
