Information: Raymond Lewis Parsons, 74, Rt. 1, Liverpool, died Tuesday at Jackson General Hospital, Ripley after a long illness. He was a well-known retired Jackson County teacher, teaching science and chemistry at Ripley High School. He was a veteran of World War II, held membership with the Ripley Post American Legion and was a Mason. He was a member of the Mill Creek Baptist Church. He was born May 31, 1909, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Otmer Parsons. Survivors include: one son, David A. Parsons, Vienna; three daughters, Mrs. Barbara Schaupp, Morgantown, Cheryl Vinuard, Charleston, Lella Miller, Charleston; two brothers, Russell H. Parsons, Gay, Edwin C.Parsons, Liverpool; seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Wolfe Parsons. Funeral services will be held Friday, 10 a.m., at Mill Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Orland Reynolds and the Rev. Herman Robinson officiating. Burial will be in Baptist Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at Parsons Funeral Home, Ripley, Wednesday evening between 7 and 9 p.m. and on Thursday between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. and 7 p.m and 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Baptist Grove Cemetery Fund, c/o Clarence Mitchell, Liverpool, WV.
