  <p>Information: James Elmer Batton, 65 of Fairplain died March 13, 1995 at Jackson General Hospital, Ripley after a short illness.  He was a contractor, attended Epling Chapel Church, Roane county and was an Army veteran.  Surviving: wife, Rose Etta Batton; sons, James Lee of Fairplain, Phillip, Brett, Bart and Mathew all of Freeport, Ohio; stepson, Thomas Mack of East Springfield, Ohio; daughters, Linda Robinson of Freeport, Brenda Ripley of Fairplain; brothers, Fred of Fairplain, Edward of Freeport; sisters, Betty Heck of Fort Myers Beach, Fla., Nancy Beck of Canal Fulton, Ohio; 10 grandchildren.  Service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Parsons Funeral Home, Ripley with the Rev. Orland Reynolds officiating.  Burial will be in Epling Chapel Cemetery.  Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.  Additional service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Epling Chapel Church with the same minister officiating.</p>
