  <p>Information: Miner Justus Kerns, 85 of Ripley died Aug. 20, 1993 at Eldercare of Ripley after a long illness.  He was a Christian and taught Bible school at various community churches for many years.  He was a former employee of Kelly's Axe Co., and was a farmer.  Surviving: wife, Bertha Wiseman Kerns, son, Justus of Point Pleasant; daughters, Helen Patterson of New Cumberland, Evelyn Freeman of Racine, Ohio, Justava Nuzum Allison of New Cumberland; brothers, Alvin of Oregon, Dale of Alabama; sister, Melba Knight of Florida; 11 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson.  Service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Vail Funeral Home, Ripley with the Rev. Creed Pursley officiating.  Burial will be in Miner Kerns Cemetery, Parrish Hill Road, U.S. 33, near Ripley.  Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at the funeral home.</p>
