  <p>Information: Melvin Theodore Horne, 80 of Ripley died Oct. 8, 1993 at home after a long illness.  He was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church, Ripley and Ripley Volunteer Fire Department.  He was a retired school administrator and teacher with 41 years' service and an Army veteran of World War II.  He was a charter member of Ripley Lions Club from which he received the Melvin Jones Fellow Award for outstanding service.  Surviving: wife, Joanne Reese Horne; stepson, James Puccio of Ripley; daughter, Sherry Poole of Evans; sister, Wanda Mae Pringle of Ripley; four grandchildren.  Service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Calvary United Methodist Church, Ripley with the Rev. Hubert Groves officiating.  Burial with military graveside rites will be in Pine Hill Cemetery, Ripley.  Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. today at Vail Funeral Home, Ripley.</p>
