  <p>Information: Dr. Charles Edward Campbell Jr., 79 of Ripley died Oct. 1, 1996 in Ravenswood Village after a long illness.  He was an optometrist, a life member and past president of West Virginia Optometric Association, a member of AF&AM Lodge 16, BPOE, Beni Kedem Shrine Band, Scottish Rite Bodies, Charleston, past president of Ripley Lions Club, a Navy veteran of World War II, a member and usher at St. John's Episcopal Church, a music instructor at Mason School of Music, Charleston, and a graduate of West Virginia University and Illinois College of Optometry.  Surviving: wife, Elsie Campbell; son Charles R. of Ripley; daughter, Karly Hyman of Buckhannon; sisters, Katie Ellingwood of Mansfield, Ohio, Marty Stemper of Marietta, Ga.; four grandchildren.  Service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Epworth United Methodist Church, Ripley, with the Rev. Ken Krimmel officiating.  Burial will be in Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans.  Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Vail Funeral Home, Ripley and one hour prior to service at the church.</p>
