Information: Jack L. Brooks, 55, of Kenna, died Tuesday in Jackson General Hospital after a brief illness.  He was president of the United Food and Commercial Workers International Union, AFL-CIO.  In 1959, he became business agent for the local union, then known as the Amalgamated Meat Cutters and Butcher Workmen of North America, AFL-CIO.  In 1972, he was elected president of the local union. He was an Army veteran and a member of Fisher Memorial Church, Kenna.  He is survived by his wife, Norma Jean Herndon Brooks; son, Eric Lee Brooks of Charleston; mother, Mrs. Violet Brooks Dillon of Charleston; sisters, Mrs. Ina Chandler of Frame, Mrs. Dorothy Cavender of Lake Plaza, Fla.; brother, Wade Brooks of South Charleston; and two grandchildren.  A service was held at 1 p.m. Friday in Bartlett-Burdette-Cox Funeral Home, Charleston with the Rev. Lee Beard officiating.  Burial was in Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans.
