  <p>Information: Hugh E. Burgess, 85, of Ravenswood, died Monday morning in Charleston General Hospital after an extended illness.  He was born in Roane County, son of the late John and Susan Dearman Burgess and was a member of St. Marys Methodist Church at St Marys and Moriah Lodge No. 38, AF & AM of Spencer.  He attended Hammel Business College in Akron and retired as an engineer supervisor with Spencer State Hospital after 23 years of service. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Francis Milhoan, Ravenswood and Mrs. Louise Bode, Harrisville; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Flora Hoff Burgess in 1975 and by a son, Edward H. Burgess, who was killed in action in World War II.
Serivces will be held today (Wednesday) at 2 pm at Straight-Tucker Funeral Home, Ravenswood, with the Rev. Ronald Stoner officiating.  Masonic graveside services will be conducted in Ravenswood Cemetery.</p>
