Information: Arthur Amos Pickens, 51, of The Woodlands, Texas, died at Luke's Hospital, Houston, Texas. He was the brother of Beryl Conant of Liverpool. He was born in Liverpool, a son of the late Ruben R. and Nellie Ann Sparr Pickens. He was a member of North Parkersburg Baptist Church. He moved to Texas in 1978 from Parkersburg. He was a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite and was a member of the Shrine. He is also survived by his wife, Carol Morelock Pickens; three sons, Arthur A. Pickens II, Jeffrey M. Pickens, and Jason S. Pickens, all of Houston, Texas; two brothers, Andrew Pickens of Parkersburg, Gene Pickens of Fayetteville, N.C.; other sisters, Leona Moore, Frances Boone and Irene Jenkins, all of Parkersburg, Madeline Robinson of Davisville, Beulah Reynolds of Elkins. He was preceded in death by one sister, Elizabeth Johnson. Services were Monday at the Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with Pastor Conrad Lowe officiating. Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery, North.
