  <p>Information: William Alan Byers, 59, of Ravenswood, died Sunday evening at Jackson General Hospital in Ripley after a short illness.  Born in Wood County, he was the son of the late Walter William and Dollie Williamson Byers.  He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Ravenswood, was a production control engineer with 25 years service at Kaiser Aluminum and a World War II veteran.
     Surviving are his wife, Gladys Robinson Byers; two sons, Robert Alan Byers at Susanville, Calif., and George J. Byers with the U.S.Navy; a daughter, Angela Lynn Byers of Alexandria, VA; three brothers, Charles R. Byers, address unknown, Byron E. Byers of Tacoma, Wash., and James P. Byers of Stockton, Calif.; a sister, Pauline Brannon of Parkersburg and two granddaughters.  The funeral will be at 2 pm today (Wednesday) at Straight-Tucker Funeral Home Chapel in Ravenswood, the Rev. Charles Thompson officiating.  Burial will be in Ravenswood Cemetery.</p>
