Death Notice:

Obituary Date: 1941-06-27

Information: Funeral services for Otmer Fleet Young, 69 years old, were held from the Vail Funeral Home Saturday morning at 10:30 o'clock and burial followed in the Pine Hill cemetery.  Mr. Young died suddenly at noon Thursday from what was said to have been a heart attack.  He had been in ill health for some time following an attack of pneumonia earlier in the year and while his condition was known not to be good, death was not expected and was a severe shock to his family and friends.  He had entered the hospital on Wednesday and was believed to be doing satisfactorily.  He was a well known Ripley citizen and was a carpenter and builder and was known for his high-type of workmanship.  He is survived by the widow, Mrs. Neva Young, one daughter, Mrs. W. Marion Pfost, a brother, George Young, of Ripley, and a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Board, of Charleston. [Betty Kessel McIntyre obit collection]
