  <p>Information:               Jessie Lonard WOOD, son of James Franklin and Artie Thomas WOOD, was born May 15, 1920 near Ripley and departed this life on Nov. 24, 1947, at the age of 27 years, 6 months and 9 days.  All his life he was physical weak and wore his suffering patiently.  The funeral service was conducted by the Rev. I. J. MCCOLLUM of Cottageville, and the body was laid to rest at Creston Cemetery by Devore Funeral Home of Delaware and Galina, Ohio.                  He leaves to mourn his passing, his mother, Artie Thomas WOOD; four sisters, Mrs. May JOHNSON of Duffy, WV., Mrs. Lilly HILL of Delaware, Ohio, Mrs. Delta WINE of Columbus, and Mrs. Effie COGAN, by a former marriage of James WOOD to Alice Lou WOOD;  four brothers, Jack of Delaware, Ohio, Lonnie of Logan, James of Powell, Ohio, and Virgil WOOD of Columbus.  (from the Betty Kessel McIntyre obit collection)     </p>
