Information: Iva Lake Wolfe, wife of J. Luther Wolfe and daughter of Rev. W. P. and Cynthia A. Guinn, was born March 31, 1882, near Clendenin, West Virginia, and departed this life September 6, 1920, aged 38 years, five months and five days.  Her father was a Methodist minister and proclaimed the eternal truths in Kanawha, Nicholas, Fayette and Jackson counties, and while on the Ripley charge, she met Mr. Wolfe and they were united in marriage on February 23rd, 1902.  They settled down at Ripley and have lived here ever since.  They have one daughter, Aulene, now past 14 years of age.  Mrs. Wolfe leaves surviving, her husband, daughter, mother, brother, Robert Guinn and three sisters, Mrs. L. C. Burke, Mrs. C. L. Whittington and Miss Ruby Guinn, besides other relatives and many devoted friends.  She joined the Methodist church at the age of 12 and always lived a true, consistent, devoted Christian life.  She was a faithful and earnest worker in the church and was organist for quite a while, only resigning when her health failed.  She was president of the Ladies Aid and rendered invaluable services to it, but was compelled to resign this position on account of her failing health.  She was a lover of the Order of the Eastern Star and was a Past Matron of Ripley Chapter No. 17.  The year she was Matron, her health gave way, but her presence on the few occasions he was permitted to attend was true inspiration to the order.  The last night she ever presided she made a farewell address, the effect of which reached every member present, and not a dry eye was in the Temple.  She had been sick the past two years and made a heroic effort to get well, but a complication of diseases proved too much for her, and in her weakened condition she was unable to stand an attack of pneumonia, which caused her death.
