Information: EDITH WINTER DIES IN CRASH ON TURNPIKE - Tragedy again stalked the West Virginia Turnpike over the week-end and one of the victims was a former Ripley woman who met her death in a two car-truck crash early Sunday morning about 25 miles east of Charleston.  Dead on arrival at the Charleston General Hospital was Edith Waybright Winter, 48, former wife of the late Glenn Winter, who was a well known Ripley building contractor.  Recently she had been living in Charleston and was an employee of the Diamond Department Store.  At the time she was killed she was returning to Charleston from Lewisburg where she had visited her daughter who was attending a Girl Scout camp there.  She suffered a severe head injury and broken neck. The body was brought to the Parsons mortuary on Sunday.  In the wreck, police said Mrs. Winter was driving alone toward Charleston and the truck, driven by Jackie Lee Deboard, 24, of Cocar, badly damaged.  Police said Deboard suffered lacerations and fractured ribs.  He was released after treatment at Charleston Memorial Hospital, as were his half-brother, Timothy L. Elkins,Jr., 18, and Jerry M. Grizzell, 13, both of Columbus, Ohio, who sustained lacerations.      Troopers J. E. Asbury and R. B. Edwards said Mrs. Winters apparently lost control of her car while trying to pass another car and swerved into the left hand lane of traffic.  An oncoming car ran into the wreckage, but none of its occupants were injured, nor was the car badly damaged.  Police said the driver was Hugh D. Black, 46, of Bucyrus, Ohio.  Mrs. Winters was dead when a Leonard Johnson ambulance arrived to take the injured to the hospital.     Mrs. Winters is survived by a daughter, Miss Sandra Winters, of Charleston; sister, Mrs. Myrtle Shinn of Live Oak, Fla.; brothers, Carl and Herman Waybright of Gay and Boyd of Ripley.  The Winters family has been hit by a succession of tragedies.  First their son, Raymond, was found dead in a parked car near Ripley a few years ago of accidental monoxide poisoning, following that, the father died of shotgun wounds last September.  The funeral service was held at the Parsons funeral home Tuesday afternoon with Rev. Cecil McMillian officiating and the burial was in the Fairplain cemetery.
