Information: Funeral services for James C. Bradley, 78, were held at the Grasslick Baptist Church at Kenna last Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock with Rev. Fred Slaughter, pastor of the Ripley United Brethren Church, in charge and burial was in the Pleasant Valley cemetery.  Mr. Bradley died last Wednesday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Ben Whittington, of Pocataligo.  His health had not been good for several years.  In addition to Mrs. Whittington, other survivors are Mrs. Rosie Bradley; three sons, W. O. Bradley of Kenna; C. E. Bradley of Beckley; C. C. Bradley of Evansville, Indiana; one brother, J. D. Bradley of Ripley; four sisters, Mrs. D. K. Boggess of Dunbar; Mrs. J. C. McKeller of Farnie, Texas; Mrs. E. C. Harpold of Dallas, Texas, and Mrs. J. D. Hickman of Ripley.  The following obituary was read at the funeral:      James Christopher Bradley, son of Charles and Amelia Straley Bradley, was born in Botetourt County, Virginia, March 19, 1857, departed this life June 12, 1935, age 78 years, 2 months and 23 days.  When a mere boy his parents moved to what is now Evans, West Virginia, where he grew to manhood.  From Evans he moved to the head of Poca, now the old home place, about 1881.  September 30, 1886 he was united in marriage to Susan Adaline Maddox and to this union were born 6 children, two of which preceded him to the great beyond.  Susan Adeline Bradley died in October 1921.  He was later married to Rose Bailey, who with three sons and one daughter, Norma Whittington, remain to mourn their loss.  He also leaves four sisters, one brother, 15 grandchildren and a host of friends to whom he was known as ""Jim"".  [from the Betty Kessel McIntyre collection]
