Information: CRASH VICTIM - Benjamin F. Wiblin, aged 63, of Frozen Camp, died at the Kessel Hospital about four-thirty o'clock last Wednesday afternoon from injuries received when he was struck by an automobile on the highway near his home earlier that day. The driver of the car, W. K. McCray, has been placed under a bond by the state police to answer any charges which may be brought against him in connection with the case. The accident happened about nine-thirty that morning in the road at the E. E. Knopp home. Wiblin had just left the barn of Mr. Knopp where he had been talking with him, when Mr. Knopp heard the brakes being applied to an automobile on the highway and looked out to see the car come to a halt and Wiblin fall to the ground. He was unconscious and those present realized that he was seriously injured and he was brought to Ripley and taken to the Kessel Hospital within a few minutes. An examination after he entered the hospital made by Dr. C. Royal Kessel disclosed that Wiblin's most serious injuries were a severe concussion of the brain and severe injury to the right side of the chest. Other injuries included broken ribs and numerous bruises. There were three witnesses to the tragedy, Mr. McCray, the driver of the car, Mr. Knopp and Daniel Comer. McCray, who is an employee of the South Penn Oil Company and lives at Spencer, was on his way to Ripley. He saw Wiblin come into the road and said he sounded his horn and that the man turned to the right and he started to go around him on the left and he stepped back to the left. Wiblin was traveling in the same direction as the car. After the accident Mr. McCray reported it to the sheriff and to the state police and was placed under the bond. Funeral services were held at the home on Thursday afternoon.
