Information: Howard Lee White, Sr., 92, of Ripley, died Oct. 16, 1987, in Jackson General Hospital after a short illness.  He was a retired contractor and a member of Ripley Baptist Temple.  He was a veteran of World War I.  Surviving:  wife, Grace Bird White; son, Howard L. Jr. of Kenna; brothers, Harry R. of Charleston and John W. of Melbourne, Fla.; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.  Service was Monday at Myers Funeral Home, Elkview, with the Rev. Brad Winkler officiating.  Burial was in Board Cemetery, Spencer Road, Clendenin.
