Information: Brothers Drown As One Attempts Rescue of Other Two sons of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Bradley Drown Saturday Morning in Mill Creek; Body of Smaller Son Not Recovered Until Tuesday Morning. Two young brothers, Charles Bradley, eight years old, and Harold Lloyd Bradley, five years old, and both sons of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Bradley, of Ripley, were drowned in Mill Creek last Saturday morning about eight-thirty o'clock when Charles gave his life in a futile attempt to rescue his brother who had been caught in the swelling current of the stream. The body of the older brother was rescued by volunteer workers within three-quarters of an hour but the body of the younger son was not rescued until nearly ten o'clock Tuesday morning. The tragedy is the most heart-rending that has hit this section in a generation. There was only one witness to the tragedy, Keith Casto, seven years old, from whom the story has been obtained of how the brothers met their death. The three were playing on a ledge of rock protruding out into the stream and were watching the rising waters in Mill Creek and driftwood go by. Harold Lloyd lay down on the rock and attempted to catch a piece of the wood when it swept by and was either dragged into the stream or fell in.
